"Standing watching Sir Tom Jones singing, I had to pinch myself – was I really being paid to attend this event?" recalls Jon Pink, #LOOCREW member at LOOS FOR DOs Ltd – one of the men behind delivering the hundreds (even thousands) of portable toilets to events across the UK.
Jon joined the LOOS FOR DOs team in early 2018, having worked as a multidrop driver for a well-known building materials supplier. "I immediately felt I’d found a business which treated me as part of the family. I was welcomed with open arms, shown the ropes by members of the team who have over 10 years’ experience in the role here and encouraged to bring my personality to work with me".
LOOS FOR DOs are a family owned and run business based in Kingsley, Hampshire who pride themselves in being a quality driven outfit that bring glamour to the portable loo and shower industry. They supply a selection of the UK’s largest events (Tough Mudder, The London Marathon, Let’s Rock Festival, Greenwich Music Time, Brighton Marathon to name but a few) with loos, showers and facilities management.
Jon talked about the benefits of having "the best of both worlds" stating "driving the vans is a great role and the additional opportunity of parking up for the event, working within the onsite #LOOCREW team for the duration of the event provides some much needed variety to the role". Jon continued "it’s a great place to work because I get to take ownership of caring for my vehicle and equipment, and it’s a fleet and job that everyone takes pride in".
Oli Grant, Operations Manager, describes how "it’s the little touches with our fleet that make a difference. All our vehicles are under 5 years old, all are meticulously maintained, and all have their own private number plates – just to make us stand out!"
LOOS FOR DOs ethos for quality has reflected in an increased demand for their services at events through the UK and they’re now on the hunt for new talent to join their driving team. "We’re looking for drivers who have a great team spirit, the skills of handling a van with a trailer and also the ability to muck in at events – in return joining our fun, dynamic and growing business" states Oli.
Reflecting on our conversation about working for LOOS, Jon signed off with a lovely statement – "My only regret is I didn’t find this role sooner, LOOS FOR DOs is such a fun place to work!"
